Term Life Insurance Amarillo Texas

Is Term Life Insurance policy a good policy to have?

Kay

Amarillo, Texas

Excellent Question Kay,

Those who buy term life insurance do so because it is a limited expense policy that insures the policy holder for a specific period of time. If the person who holds the policy should pass away during that period of time then the company pays out the death benefit of the policy. The average time period that a policy is taken out for is a year. If the insured person is still alive after the period then they can then buy another one year policy.

This is not the best deal for the person looking for a good policy. If they should become ill during the year with something serious, something terminal, then they will be considered uninsurable. Each year the potential policy holder must pass a medical exam. This means that the person who is ill would be unable to be insured again and so would be left with no death benefits for their family. Therefore, this term life insurance is not the best option.

A better option would be to buy annual renewable term life insurance. This type of policy can be started at any point in time as long as the policy holder passes the medical exam. The term for these policies is usually anywhere from ten to thirty years. The policy holder pays once a year and as the person gets older the cost of the premiums will increase.

The advantage to this type of insurance is that there is more chance that the policy holder will get benefit from a long term policy and so the death benefits will be paid to the family of the insured person. If the person becomes ill during the coverage period the insurance company cannot do anything to terminate this type of policy. With some companies this can go on until the policy holder is ninety five, but not with all companies.

Senior Term Life Insurance Amarillo Texas TX

I’m 55 years old. Can I still purchase a senior term life insurance?

Peter

Amarillo TX

Peter,

Even if your age is 65, you can still avail a senior term life insurance. However, there are processes that you have to go through first to confirm your insurability such as medical exams and filling up of questionnaires. These processes are needed in order to determine the amount of premiums for your term life insurance. All you have to do is submit certain requirements and the life insurance company will decide whether you’re qualified on any policy for a senior term life insurance.

Certain policies of many life insurance companies vary from one another. Some life insurance companies would approve your application for a 20-year senior term life insurance if you are healthy. However, if you have a family history of diseases like cancer or diabetes, that same term may be reduced to only 10 years. This is primarily because seniors over the age of 50, people are more prone to illnesses that could possibly increase insurance risks. But, this fact does not imply that you will no longer be able to get a senior term life insurance. However, a person’s age is a factor in assessing the amount of premium that you’ll be paying. And if you want more guidance regarding a suitable senior term life insurance for you, try inquiring with your local agent in Dallas. Good luck Peter!

Bruce,

Term life insurance is the simplest form of life insurance on a limited
budget, and is available for a pre-defined period of time. It is typically
renewable and available with adjustable premiums to manage your expense when you are operating on limited financial resources. This type of insurance is also suitable for financial planning for the short term.Due to lower monthly premiums, term life insurance is more affordable than a whole life insurance.

Which is Best Term Life or Whole Life Insurance?

It all depends upon your particular circumstances. If you’re just starting out in life with a new family and you don’t have much money, term life insurance might be your best choice. You’ll get the most amount of protection for your family at the lowest cost. With whole of life, the premiums go partly towards a mortality element and partly towards a savings element, which builds up an investment fund in order to pay the benefit on death.
